Mast was most recently vice president and general manager for Bloomingdale’s White Plains store. He joined the chain in 1981 and has held various positions. In the new role, Mast reports to Julie Greiner, executive vice president and director of stores.

Spiro has had a long relationship with Bloomingdale’s. He began his career there in 1964 and worked his way through several merchandising posts, eventually becoming regional vice president of stores. While Spiro left the company in 1977, he returned in 1983 as vice president and general manager of Willow Grove.

“I thank Steve Spiro for bringing the 59th Street store to a new level,” said Bloomingdale’s chairman and chief executive Michael Gould in a statement. “I also feel fortunate to be able to promote Richard Mast. He will bring his talent and energy to the position and help us continue to build the 59th Street store.”
