In a statement, the retailer said Boyer will also oversee apparel merchandising at Eddie Bauer’s outlet division.

A spokesman said Boyer replaces Joel Gardner, who left in February.

Boyer recently served as executive vice president at J. Crew Group Inc., and previously was at The Gap Inc., where she served as senior vice president for Banana Republic.

Boyer reports to Fabian Mansson, president and chief executive officer, who said in the statement that her “ability to respond strategically to consumer trends, while balancing the inherent qualities of a brand, will be important and valuable as we focus on enhancing Eddie Bauer’s position as the premium outdoor-inspired brand.”
