Always game to show some skin, Calvin Klein was at it again Wednesday with its spring presentation. Girls wore skinny bright jeans, some with bras, some without. The men were dressed in little more than colorful briefs — even less at one point, as in the stark naked guy strategically standing behind the Hawaiian volcanic rock set. “He’s getting paid slightly more,” quipped Kevin Carrigan, global creative director for the company.

When clothes were actually shown, they looked great. There were sexy fluid dresses with a hint of Seventies influence, chic tailored pantsuits, flirty pleated dresses and a few versions of the classic shirtwaist dress, all done in a palette that ranged from cool ocean blues to hot sunset shades to classic black and white. And in a new move, Carrigan added bold colors to his men’s looks, i.e., bright red jeans and a tonal aqua blue shirt and tie. “The collection is about strength, power and color,” said Carrigan. “Yet it is very pure and linear as well.”
