California is the land of plasticine plenty, and Giambattista Valli says that, after a recent visit, he was inspired by the free-spirited style of its L.A. denizens. He noted the way they mixed sport-active pieces, lingerie looks and military items with abandon. So, in his cruise collection for Emanuel Ungaro, Valli is showing pieces in vivid sorbet colors with boho touches, accessorized with shoes with high rubber heels, Converse-inspired stripes and white shoelaces snaking up the ankle.
Meanwhile, at Givenchy, Julien Macdonald infuses his cruise collection with fresh, feminine colors such as lilac and blush, showing silhouettes that are cut close to the body but are never too aggressive.
Valentino, for his part, is going light and floaty with floral chiffon dresses and skirts. His pink ribbon details, ruffles and candy-colored hues are perfect for the woman with a girly side.
