NEW YORK — Pencil in Monday, June 6. The Council of Fashion Designers of America is planning to stage its 2005  CFDA Fashion Awards event at the New York Public Library that evening.

This is the fourth consecutive year the event will be held at the location. As in previous editions, the evening will start off with cocktails in Astor Hall, followed by dinner and the awards ceremony in the Celeste Bartos Forum.

More than 450 CFDA members, editors, retailers and stylists will cast their ballots to nominate excellence in women’s wear, men’s wear and accessories design. The nominees, along with honors for accomplishments in lifetime achievement, creative vision and journalism and the Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Awards recognizing emerging talent, will be revealed March 30. A second round of voting will follow, with the winners announced at the awards.

Swarovski is underwriting the event for the fourth year. Ernst & Young LLP, the official accounting firm of this year’s awards, will tabulate the voting. KCD will produce the evening, and Douglas Lloyd of Lloyd + Co. will be in charge of the graphics and journal.
