NEW YORK — Liz Claiborne Inc. is spinning its accessories division to a new tune.

The company said on Monday it is reorganizing its core and licensed brands into five subdivisions to better serve each market and product line. To that end, it is creating Liz Claiborne Accessories, Contemporary Accessories (Juicy Couture), Modern Brands Accessories (Lucky Brand, Kenneth Cole and Enyce), Classic Accessories (Monet, Sigrid Olsen and Ellen Tracy) and Special Markets Accessories (Villager, Axcess, Crazy Horse, Monet 2 and Trifari).

As part of the restructuring effort, the company created several posts and promoted key accessories executives to them. Vice president and general manager of the jewelry division, Dina Battipaglia, was promoted to president of Liz Claiborne Accessories. Laura Mays, the jewelry division’s vice president of merchandising, is now vice president and general manager of Contemporary Accessories. Former vice president and general manager of Liz Claiborne handbags, fashion accessories and Lucky Brand accessories Bob Conrad was named president of Modern Brands Accessories, and Barbara Lipton, vice president and general manager of Sigrid Olsen, Ellen Tracy and Juicy Couture Accessories, was promoted to vice president and general manager of Classic Accessories. Sharyn Segal, vice president and general manager of Special Markets Accessories, became president of Special Markets Accessories, and Laura Bjurstrom, vice president of design for the jewelry division, has been promoted to vice president of design of jewelry and fashion accessories.
