NEW YORK — In a bid to better coordinate industry trade show activities, the New York Fashion Council is planning a meeting this week to allow show organizers to discuss plans.
Ed Mandelbaum, owner of the Designers & Agents show and vice president of the council, said representatives of 10 show organizations have agreed to attend an April 8 meeting at the Victoria Royal showroom at 148 West 37th Street in Manhattan. In addition to D&A, the participants include representatives of Nouveau Collective, Atelier, West Coast Exclusive, American International Designers at the Waldorf, Industry 212, Workshop, Moda Manhattan, TBC and the Project Show.
In a statement, the council said, “The primary mission of this initiative is to bring together this core group of industry decision makers to work with each other to develop and promote New York City as the fashion capital of the world.”
Council organizers said participants would also discuss how shows could cooperate to get better hotel and airline discounts for out-of-town visitors.
