NEW YORK — Panicko “Pan” Philoppou, chief executive officer of Diesel U.K. for the past nine years, has been named ceo of Diesel USA, effective Jan. 1.

Philoppou succeeds Andreas Kurz, who joined Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. as division president, international licensing last week, as reported.

Philoppou’s successor at Diesel U.K. hasn’t been named. The U.K., U.S. and Italy are Diesel’s top three markets.

At Diesel USA, Philoppou will be responsible for all the group’s brands, which consist of Diesel, Diesel Kids, DieselStyleLab and 55DSL, as well as those managed through Staff, such as DSquared2 and Martin Margiela.

Also, Craig Leavitt, vice president of sales of Diesel USA for the past three years, has been elevated to executive vice president of sales and retail, a new post.
