Emily Dacarett said the inspiration for her debut collection was the relationship between Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. Thus her mix of clean lines with colorful prints and frills was meant to represent Birkin’s transition from girl to independent young woman. A sequined T-shirt with chiffon sleeves paired with yellow shorts was one of the opening looks and the show closed with tailored raw silk jackets with open backs (one of the better pieces) and sheer gowns with open-shoulder sleeves.
