In the shoe department, it’s the higher the better. Sky-high boots in crocodile leather, bare lace-up sandals and killer stiletto pumps that wrap seductively up the leg are some enticing examples. For a softer but equally feminine look, the round-toed shoe is back. Slightly reminiscent of the Forties, these updated versions are anything but retro. Mary Jane and knee-boot styles are offered in bright colors, metallic disco hues or with studs for a racier look.
On the handbag front, it’s all about extremes. Designers are making a statement with extra-large shapes and over-the-top luxury. Some stunners include elongated, emerald green or fuchsia satin clutches, big styles in exotic skins and intricate weaves and an ultraluxe crocodile bag with a wooden handle.
Scarves, hats and belts abound. Colorful, floor-length striped scarves, fur shawls, fedoras, woven skull caps and obi belts add just the right dash of charm and sophistication to fall’s new looks.
