For his fall collection, Simon Kneen, Banana Republic’s creative director, envisioned “that transitional moment when you come back from vacation and you’re reconnecting with all the people you lost touch with.” He said he wanted the clothes to be practical yet stylish so he placed an emphasis on caped outerwear and leather pieces for a polished, citified look.

The theme carried into men’s wear with suits cut slimmer than past seasons, along with tailored pants and double-breasted town coats, much of the looks done in tweeds, herringbones and plaids.
