CHICAGO — The Marwen Foundation’s annual fund-raiser, the Paintbrush Ball, benefits art programs in Chicago’s public schools. This year, as usual, it attracted a suitably artsy, creatively dressed crowd. Trendy headgear was one way to add a touch of individuality, and looks ranged from the ubiquitous Michael Jordan baseball cap — worn with a tuxedo, of course — to an elaborate Twenties-style diamante headdress. But for guests whose creativity extended to painting the giant mural, baggy white overalls were the order of the night.
