WORLD VISIONARY: Marchon Eyewear president and chief executive officer Al Berg has been busy doing more than outfitting the world in glamorous sunglasses under designer names like Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Coach and Sean John. He also has been allocating time to help Orbis, a nonprofit organization that is seeking to eliminate blindness by flying leading surgeons to places in need on its specially outfitted DC-10 eye hospital.

Berg recently flew on a mission with Orbis to Jamaica. In honor of Berg’s commitment to the organization, Orbis presented him with its first Blue Sky Award at the Orbis Crystal Ball for Sight Gala. The host for the event was Deborah Norville. Michael Kors was also on hand to present awards to ophthalmic care company Alcon and Al Ueltschi, chairman of Flight International and Orbis International.
