Myers comes to Gadzooks after four years at Casual Male Corp., where he was most recently vice president and divisional merchandise manager. Prior to that, he was divisional merchandise manager of jewelry, accessories and cosmetics at Target. Earlier, he spent eight years with The May Department Stores Co.

“Troy has demonstrated strong management and merchandising skills and has a proven track record, specifically in the men’s market,” said Paula Masters, president and chief merchandising officer of Gadzooks, in a statement. “His expertise and leadership make him ideally suited to contribute to the growth and success of Gadzooks.”

Myers, who has responsibility for merchandising of both men’s and women’s apparel, reports to Masters.

In the first quarter, ended May 4, Gadzooks saw net income fall 25.7 percent to $1.8 million, but earnings per share of 19 cents were 2 cents ahead of analysts’ expectations. Sales increased 10.6 percent to $78.3 million as same-store sales declined 2.2 percent. The company, which operates 437 units in 40 states, is in the midst of a program to renovate its existing stores.”
