Inspired by Frida Kahlo and her work, the Adam X Atelier Fall 2023 collection applied a wide variety of techniques including asymmetrical cutting, haute couture draping techniques and hand embroidery to explore the dynamic of masculine versus feminine. From embroidered butterfly-bias cut dresses, fresh colorful tops with couture bow details draped skirts to the unconventional tailored jackets, the work reflects a sensibility of transformation for modern independent women to employ freely as a way of self-expression. Seeing Frida as a muse in a modern light, this collection makes women feel unique, elegant and fashionable with a sense of fun playfulness.

The Amanda Maria Fall 2023 collection is a blend of the timeless, minimalist elements the brand emulates with its monochromatic, neutral outfit options, paired with a pop of fun. Bright, high-contrast, hand-painted prints inspired by nature and dopamine dressing compliment the brand’s core neutrals. The prints used in the FW23 Collection were hand painted by an artist and then digitized to print on the fabric selections. The direction was dopamine jungle, creating prints that are vibrant, full of life and derived from nature, specifically nature in the jungle. The collection overall is a warm and cozy pallet of cognac browns, oatmeal and the classic neutrals tones the collection always showcases. Pops of pink, yellow and shades of blue bring the hand-painted floral and abstract jaguar-inspired prints to life. The balance between the cozy, neutral details and a hint of the wild side, creates an incredibly versatile collection.

Shift Happens. Finding my own equilibrium has become an exercise in adaptability. Our life landscapes keep shifting and it seems to me that the only sane thing to do is buckle up and try to enjoy the ride. I’ve found renewed joy in appreciating life’s laugh-out-loud simplicities like my oldest friend messaging me the meme “everyone needs a friend that they probably shouldn’t be allowed to sit next to at a serious function” or watching guilty pleasure marathons that, while they may be short on realism, make up for it in levity and nostalgia. Laughter helps while shift happens. Having accepted that this pandemic flux could persist indefinitely, I am now focused on designing a wardrobe with the polished ease to go anywhere – or nowhere – at a moment’s notice. Home, office, Zoom, office and stops in between, comfort is calling and I’m all in.

“Good Vibes Only” is a comforting collection that elicits the fondest memories of your travels, escapades, and adventures. It summons you to take care of yourself and to be accepting of your feelings so that you may better understand them. Steer clear of the negative because here, it’s good vibes only! Focusing on high-polished metal and natural white agate, this collection features a pebble in its unprocessed natural form that evokes an emotion unique to each individual. It is a timeless, elegant amulet; its shape is fluid, asymmetrical and imperfect. The agate’s white color represents purity, wisdom, peace and compassion.

For this collection, one of my main inspirations was the Hibiscus Plant. One of the things I kept coming back to while designing this collection was my love for the hibiscus plant and the fond memories I have growing up in Jamaica watching my mom making Sorrel – a refreshing drink made from the Hibiscus plant. I was always amazed at how this plant was so versatile and I channeled this within the collection. I worked at creating pieces that are fun, colorful, beautiful and versatile. Dresses in hues of red that I called hibiscus red pants in hibiscus pink are just a few examples of how I incorporate this beautiful flower into the collection.

  • Cape de Coeur

Cape de Coeur’s Fall ‘23 line is nourished by Creative Director Bettina Mueller-Reichl’s Austrian heritage and inspired by the 2022 film “Corsage,” a historical drama written and directed by Austrian filmmaker Marie Kreutzer. The Cannes Festival-awarded movie is a visually stunning waltz through the life of the extravagant Empress Elisabeth of Austria. For Fall '23 the focus and exciting challenge was to translate historical fashion elements inspired by military uniforms and the formal court attire of the 1900s into modern technical outerwear garments and accessories. The contrast between the feminist and rebellious Empress Elisabeth and the moribund imperial patriarchy of emperor Franz Josef, the opulent lifestyle of the Viennese court paired with the foreboding demise of an empire and the parallels that can be drawn to our modern world are inspiring and intriguing to Mueller-Reichl. The line is created with Cape de Coeur's proprietary Coeur-tex material, a new generation of rain-, wind and snow proof material that provides technical innovation paired with a fashion sensibility and offers a level of traditional craftsmanship paired with thoughtful details, making every piece of the line truly a “coup de coeur.”

An updated, cool 70’s vibe is what Espe’s Fall 2023 collection is all about. With a palette of earthy tones – moss green, warm tans, merlot red and deep brown, this collection is as modern as it is vintage. Boho flowers adorn weathered vegan leather that gives depth and personality to their beloved and functional crossbodies and messenger bags. Elements of faux, vegan leather croc and suede are thrift store inspired but look modern on at-the-moment silhouettes. Buckles make a bold appearance on baguette bags, vintage schoolbags and crossbodies that even Lauren Hutton would have loved. The Espe W23 collection is cruelty free, unique and aspires to affordable luxury without compromising quality.

For Fall 2023 I wanted to create a neutral gender collection. My inspiration comes from the current state of the world through my lens. Showing beauty despite the chaotic uncertain times we are living in is all this collection is about. As old worlds crumble new ones formulate from the remnants. It’s a portrayal of the dissolving boundaries and restrictions while acknowledging the oneness of humanity which has been screaming at us since the beginning of time. And that’s why I named this collection “What Label?” It’s a reflection of the beauty inherent in doing away with titles and being limitless.

During these economically challenging times, I have designed versatile pieces for women on the go so they can do more with less. Each piece is meant to be worn in multiple ways and lasts from season to season, year after year. My customers tell me they are still wearing their pieces from when I first launched in 2014! This collection, like autumn, is all about change. It’s about changing it up from bold prints to calm colors with a minimum amount of effort. These wrinkle-resistant pieces can be flipped and/or reversed to reveal a totally different look without sacrificing comfort or convenience for elegance. Whatever the occasion, or wherever the destination, this collection is meant to simplify women’s lives by giving them limitless options with a functional and versatile wardrobe.

The FW23 collection is an interplay between the classical and the modern. On one hand, the collection is inspired by the contemporary and the novel – the silhouettes are

modern, and the fabrication is high-tech jacquards with 4-way stretch and unique surface textures. On the other hand, the collection features whimsical trims and classical wallpaper motifs, depicting illustrative forest scenery and intricate floral patterns. These elements combine into a collection that fills the space between nostalgia and novelty and creates a subtle feeling of sentimentality, which is a signature Nadya Toto inspiration.

Signature Stripes is a tribute to time spent in Italy. The pieces celebrate the domed structures and arched bridges of its cities and the bright Mediterranean beach culture of stripes on stripes (umbrellas, lounge chairs, towels, etc.). The sense of the exceptional and the quotidian, which surround us in foreign climes, informed each piece of jewelry in this collection.

The FW23 collection was heavily inspired by our Pacific coast and its surrounding wilderness. We incorporated a rugged color pallet, prints depicting local weather, flora and fauna which could be found on our mountains and juxtaposed them on streetwear. We also named our products after local mountains and lakes. This resulted in an exciting, dramatic collection that paid homage to the vintage Canadian trekking style but recontextualized for the city streets. There is nowhere else in the world where one can experience such diverse ecosystems so close to the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. Our collection represents the appreciation we have for living in such a place. We are committed to preserving this natural beauty through our small-batch manufacturing, the use of natural materials, and digital printing which reduces waste and water compared to traditional printing methods.

  • Sanaz Doost

Sanaz Doost’s Fall 2023 collection is inspired by Persian Women. Women in ancient Persia had more rights and greater freedom than any other ancient civilizations including, even ancient Egypt which is famous for its respect for the feminine principle in religion as well as daily life. But nowadays things are completely different in Iran, Persian women are fighting refusing to wear the mandatory veil and making their voices heard is challenging the country’s oppressive, fear-based regime. The slogan “Woman, Life, Liberty!” has filled Iranian streets as the women chanting it have risked their lives by protesting. Time magazine has crowned the women of Iran as heroes of the year in 2022 for their role as the pioneers of the uprising against the Islamic Republic. Iranian women are “educated, secular, liberal” and took to the streets after the death of the young Kurdish Mahsa Amini to say, “they have the freedom to say and wear anything.” Persian women are an inspiration for the world and my collection is dedicated to them.
