NEW YORK — Carolina Herrera has been on a roll recently, and she continued it for spring with a beautiful collection inspired by the interior design of the Forties. Colors were clean — ivory, aqua, red — and shapes were crisp and fluid, while pants were eliminated, except for some stylish Bermuda shorts. And although the underlying theme could be traced, nothing was self-consciously retro — the clothes had a casual elegance all their own. Here, Herrera’s witty gown in a “swimming-ladies” print.
