NEW YORK — Raymond A. Baliatico, a former executive with Chesebrough-Pond’s and Avon Products, has been named president and chief executive officer of Halston Borghese Inc. He replaces Michael Martin, who said in November that he would retire when a successor was found.
From April 1990 to last December, Baliatico was president and chief executive officer of the Swarovski Fashion Division of Daniel Swarovski Corp.
He began his career in 1960 at Colgate-Palmolive Co. and then held a series of marketing positions at Phillip Morris and Ciba-Geigy before joining Avon in 1969 as vice president of product marketing. He eventually became group vice president of strategic planning and new business development.
Baliatico joined the Prince Matchabelli Division of Chesebrough-Pond’s as president and general manager. In addition to Matchabelli, he was responsible for the Parfums International prestige fragrance operation as well as Erno Laszlo.
In October 1989, he transferred to Chesebrough’s parent, Unilever, where he worked on acquisitions, before moving to Swarovski.
