Kevin Carrigan is bringing sexy back. The creative director for Calvin Klein presented a tight lineup of “tough chic looks,” as he described his fall women’s collection. Working with body-conscious shapes, Carrigan added stretch to minimal streamlined dresses with zipper details, cool toppers with leather trim and urban animal print sheaths, plus a shrunken peacoat paired with stirrup pants in a nod to the military trend.

In accessories, Carrigan offered bags of quilted leather with plenty of hardware and over-the-knee boots in rich leathers and a rubberized rainboot version. And there are also two new additions for fall: the new Calvin Klein X Jean, featuring a sleek, skinny jeans silhouette, and Envy, a collection of delicate lace bras and panties.

The slim tailoring, sexy sportswear and stretch continued in men’s wear. Although dark suits, tailored topcoats and denim ensembles worn with black neckties made an urbane, dressy statement, Carrigan asserted everything was made to move and stretch. “Men are really comfortable with a slim silhouette now,” he said. To wit: The X Jean for men is skinny, stretchy and designed to enhance the “profile.”
