Emily Leiding-Weight, IMG Asia-Pacific’s former head of fashion and the public face of the company’s annual Australian designer collections showcase Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia has been replaced by Natalie Xenita as head of fashion, sales and brand management.
Although at press time IMG Australia did not immediately respond to a request for further information, sources report Xenita commenced work earlier this week. On Wednesday, Leiding-Weight announced via e-mail that she has left the company after five years to pursue consulting work.
According to Xenita’s LinkedIn page, she has spent 13 years working in advertising sales in the Australian women’s magazine sector, working with Bauer Media Australia, Seven West Media and most recently, News Corp Australia, where she was employed as group sales manager for the past 14 months.
Sources also report that Anna McLeod, currently marketing manager with the Scentre Group, is due to start working with Xenita at WME/IMG on September 5 as marketing and communications manager.
Leiding-Weight is one of three senior IMG Asia-Pacific fashion staff members to have left the company.
Chelsea Wayte, IMG Australia’s former director marketing and designer brands, fashion events and properties has moved to New York to become vice president of marketing communications and brand partnerships at Cynthia Rowley, according to her LinkedIn profile. Dolli Taylor, IMG Australia’s former senior marketing coordinator, marketing and communications is now communications and digital manager at the Sydney-based NAC Media Group.
