CALVIN’S PROMOTION: Calvin Klein Inc. promoted Sara Dennis to senior vice president of jeans, underwear and swimwear on Tuesday. Dennis, who had been vice president of product development for underwear and swimwear, has added jeans development to her purview and now reports to Tom Murry, president and chief operating officer. “She has a great track record in managing our Calvin Klein products in these areas,” said Murry, noting that Dennis will continue to coordinate closely with Klein’s business partners, including Warnaco and Swimwear Anywhere. Dennis joined Klein’s underwear-design division in 1996 and added product development responsibilities in 1997. She was promoted to vice president in 1998.
WOLFORD CONSOLIDATES: Karen Schneider, president of Wolford America, is leaving the company, effective Oct. 18, WWD has learned. The Bregenz, Austria-based parent company is eliminating the position. Schneider’s responsibilities will be shared by middle management, including Kevin O’ Boyle, vice president of finance and operation; Maria Basquil, national sales manager, and Jennifer Puckett, director of retail stores. Schneider, who could not be reached for comment, was with Wolford for five years, and oversaw the company’s U.S. retail expansion. There are currently 25 Wolford stores nationwide.
CFO FOUND: The Wet Seal Inc. Monday named William Langsdorf to fill its vacant chief financial officer position. Langsdorf was previously chief financial officer at home furnishings retailer House2Home Inc. “We believe that his extensive experience in retail finance will greatly contribute to our organization,” said the Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based teen apparel retailer’s chief executive officer Kathy Bronstein in a statement. Langsdorf replaces former Wet Seal cfo Walter Parks, who was promoted to executive vice president and chief administrative officer on March 21.
