AEFFE TAPS GM: Aeffe SpA has tapped a new general manager, Marcello Tassinari, who has been promoted from his current role as the company’s chief financial officer. Aeffe chief executive Simone Badioli had been acting as interim general manager. Aeffe has been bolstering its management team lately. In November it appointed Thierry Andretta and Antonella Tomasetti as ceo’s of the Moschino and Pollini brands, respectively. Last year, Aeffe saw its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization grow 7.5 percent to 36 million euros ($45.4 million at average exchange rates) while sales increased 5.1 percent to 268 million euros ($337.7 million). The company plans to hit the 300 million euro ($387.8 million) sales mark this year and reach 500 million euros ($646.4 million) in revenues within the next four years, Badioli said in a statement.

KC GETS HYPE: Los Angeles-based young contemporary brand Hype has signed a deal with KC Collections to produce and distribute Hype girls outerwear in sizes 4 to 16. The line launches for fall retailing and includes a variety of looks from fake fur and suede jackets to genuine leather and puffer coats. For six years, Hype girls outerwear was being produced by Harkham Industries, which produces the clothing line for the Hype brand.

DE GRISOGONO APPOINTMENT: Denise De Luca has joined de Grisogono Jewelers as communications officer for the U.S. She will report to Giovanni Mattera, director of de Grisogono for North America, and will be responsible for public relations and media advertising placement. De Luca has extensive experience in jewelry having worked for Bulgari and Graff. She was also director of media for Bloomingdale’s.

LIBERTINE, A.B.S. SETTLEMENT: Bicoastal designer label Libertine has settled a copyright and trade dress infringement lawsuit that it filed against Los Angeles contemporary brand A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz. Terms were not disclosed. Libertine co-founder and co-designer Johnson Hartig, who alleged that A.B.S. had earned about $14 million through copying Libertine’s artwork and packaging, said he was “very pleased” with the settlement. A.B.S. did not return a call for comment.
