• BROWNELL JOINS COLDWATER:Multichannel women’s apparel retailer Coldwater Creek has named James Brownell as senior vice president and chief information officer. He succeeds Tom Scott, who resigned in September, and will report to Melvin Dick, chief financial officer. He is responsible for all aspects of informational technology, with a particular focus on helping the company build a retail store base infrastructure, the company said. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief information officer for Williams-Sonoma, where he was responsible for all information technology and systems development, as well as its $600 million direct-sales channel. Prior to that, Brownell held the post of vice president, information technology, for Gap Inc.
  • FORRAY INTO HUGHES: Karen Forray has joined E.A. Hughes, the search firm, as executive vice president. Forray has more than 20 years experience in executive search and consulting in retail, consumer products, cosmetics, manufacturing, financial services and not-for-profit institutes and organizations. She previously ran her own executive search firm.
