- JONES PROMOTES CURRAN: Jones Apparel Group has promoted Mary Ann Curran to chief executive officer of its Canadian businesses. Curran has been with Jones for six years, most recently holding the title of vice president and chief financial officer of Jones Apparel Group Canada. She reports to the parent firm’s ceo, Peter Boneparth. Curran will assume the responsibilities of the Canadian division’s president, Richard Shaw, who is set to retire at the end of the month. In a statement, Boneparth lauded Curran’s leadership skills and background and noted, “This is an exciting time for Jones Apparel in Canada, given the recent brand additions of Kasper, Anne Klein and Albert Nipon to our portfolio.
- CALVIN’S LATEST TEAM: Vestimenta Inc. named its team to direct the U.S. sales and merchandising of the Calvin Klein Collection, now produced as a license by the Italian manufacturer. Laura Giulini was named vice president of the Calvin Klein women’s collection, joining the company from Gianni Versace’s GV Distribution. Jeannie Amos, formerly senior vice president of Mani, a division of Giorgio Armani, was named vice president of the Calvin Klein men’s collection. Both will be based in the new Calvin Klein showroom at 595 Madison Avenue in New York, reporting to Robert Green, president and chief executive officer of Vestimenta Inc.
