LANCEL’S NEW CEO: Richemont named Marc Lelandais to be president and chief executive officer of Lancel, replacing Isabelle Guichot, who left for Gucci Group last year. Guichot had been ceo and president of Van Cleef & Arpels and Lancel. Lelandais, 39, will report to Norbert Platt, ceo of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, Lancel’s parent. Lelandais had worked for Escada and Children Worldwide Fashion in management and marketing positions. Philippe Berlan, general manager of Lancel, who was named acting ceo after Guichot’s departure, remains general manager. He will report to Lelandais. Richemont spokesman Alan Grieve said Lelandais’ appointment was a vote of confidence for Lancel. “We wanted a strong candidate who could run with the business and further the brand’s international expansion,” he said. Richemont said it expects Lancel, which has been undergoing a restructuring, to turn a profit in the 2006-2007 fiscal year. Lancel employs 570 people and opened its latest store on the Champs-Elysées in December.
