LEIBER NAMES SALES VP: Judith Leiber LLC has named Lela Katsune as vice president of sales, a newly created position for the New York-based luxury accessories company. Katsune, who was most recently executive vice president of sales and operations at John Galliano, and has held senior management positions at Badgley Mischka and Vera Wang, will report to Leiber president and chief executive officer Robert Vignola. “In addition to her knowledge of brand building, she also understands how to manage business at the store level and will be instrumental in our wholesale growth worldwide,” Vignola said in a statement.

T-SHIRT WINNER: Khyjuan Mansker of Oklahoma City is the winner of the “Design our T-shirt Contest,” sponsored by Kellwood’s Phat Fashions division. The T-shirt, which is being kept under wraps, will be unveiled in August on Phat Farm’s Web site and in its flagship store at 129 Prince Street in New York. All proceeds from sales of the limited-edition T-shirt, which will retail between $28 and $30, will be donated to Fashion Delivers Charitable Foundation. It will also be sold at future Fashion Delivers events. The contest was judged by Russell Simmons, chief executive officer of Phat Farm; Bernt Ullmann, president of Phat Fashions, and Allan Ellinger, chairman of Fashion Delivers and senior partner of MMG Inc.

NEW SPONSOR: DMB, a real estate investment and development company that is building One Scottsdale, a retail, residential and office development in Scottsdale, Ariz., has signed on as a sponsor for Olympus Fashion Week in New York in September. As part of the deal, DMB will unveil details of the project inside the tents during fashion week, which is scheduled Sept. 8-15. This marks Olympus Fashion Week’s first real estate development sponsorship. One Scottsdale, which is scheduled to open in fall 2009, will feature retail units, condominiums, hotel rooms and offices across 600,000 square feet.
