LINK THEORY PURCHASE: Three months after buying the Helmut Lang label from Prada, Link Theory Holdings Ltd. has made another acquisition. The Tokyo company took a majority stake in footwear designer Jean-Michel Cazabat’s eponymous business. New York-based Cazabat worked with Charles Jourdan and Stephane Kélian before venturing out on his own in 1999. His shoes are sold in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys New York. According to a Link Theory statement, Cazabat will retain creative control over the business. “We believe there is tremendous opportunity to develop a synergy between Jean-Michel Cazabat and Theory Accessories,” said Ricky Sasaki, Link Theory’s chief executive officer.
