- MINES EXPANDS WEST: Herbert Mines Associates’ executive search has hired Mary McFarren Saxon as its first West Coast representative, based in San Francisco. She was the senior client partner responsible for retail, fashion and consumer products at Korn/Ferry International’s San Francisco office. Until now, Mines has been a one-office operation.Saxon, who joined Helstrom Turner & Associates in 1998 (later acquired by Korn/Ferry International), had previously been a recruiter for Kenzer Corp. She joined Abraham & Straus in 1975 as a management trainee, became a merchant at Macy’s and from 1987 to 1995, was involved in entrepreneurial ventures. She founded Palms & Pomegranates, a decorative home accessories manufacturer. Saxon has completed senior-level and director searches for companies such as Aeropostale, Cost Plus, DFS, Longs Drugs, Martha Stewart, Restoration Hardware, Mens Wearhouse and Wet Seal.
