ROYAL APPOINTMENT: Bruce Blaustein, former president of bridge suit and dress line Teri Jon, has been named president and sales manager of eveningwear manufacturer Victoria Royal. Blaustein is overseeing design and merchandising for the Victoria Royal line, and is also president and sales manager of Mary Bays, a day dress division the company will launch in August. Alan Sealove, chairman and chief executive officer of Victoria Royal, said Blaustein is key to Victoria Royal’s growth strategy, one that includes building brands through acquisition and internal launches. “We needed to expand, beyond just eveningwear, and Bruce, with his reputation, knowledge and energy, will help with marketing and merchandising to new stores,” Sealove said. Rickie Freeman, designer and ceo of Teri Jon, said she was interviewing candidates to replace Blaustein.
