TOMMY HILFIGER’S NEW EYEWEAR: Tommy Hilfiger’s licensing division has announced a new multiyear global licensing agreement with Viva International Group for the exclusive manufacture and distribution of sunglass and eyeglass products. The optical line will be available at specialty and optical stores starting this fall, followed by sunglasses at department, specialty and optical stores in spring 2004. Tommy Hilfiger has had a substantial licensed eyewear business since the mid-Nineties, and its previous license with Lantis Eyewear Corp. recently ended. The company said the new partnership with Viva will allow it to build its customer base and significantly grow its global business for the optical and sunglass lines. The eyewear will be available in men’s, women’s and children’s styles.
