NATORI NAMES PRIORE: Natori Co. has appointed Patrick Priore to the new post of director of merchandising, reporting to Jessica Mitchell, senior vice president of sales and brand development.
Priore was most recently director of merchandising for the outerwear and woven tops businesses at Victoria’s Secret catalogue for nine months. Earlier, he was senior director of product development at Gap Inc., where he spent 12 years and was also responsible for product development of the Gap Kids business.
Josie Natori, chief executive of the Natori firm, said Priore’s background in retail, apparel merchandising and product development will lend a fresh eye to the merchandising of the company’s daywear, sleepwear, at-homewear and robe businesses. She added the company is currently looking for a director of design.
SARA LEE TAPS POLEG: Sara Lee Corp. has elected Eliaz Poleg a vice president of the corporation.
Poleg was recently named to the new position of supply chain chief for Sara Lee Branded Apparel. His responsibilities include the establishment of an integrated supply strategy across all apparel categories, global product sourcing and international trade and risk management. He reports to Cary D. McMillan, chief executive officer of Sara Lee Branded Apparel and executive vice president of Sara Lee Corp.
Poleg joined Sara Lee in 1995 as director of the Dim European hosiery and intimate apparel subsidiaries in France, where he managed the international development of Sara Lee’s largest European brand. In 2000, he was named president of Lovable in Italy and drove the reestablishment of the brand as a leader in the bra category. In 2002, Poleg was named ceo for Sara Lee Courtauld’s in London.
Prior to joining Sara Lee, Poleg held several management roles for 12 years at Delta Galil Industries, including managing director of Delta France and division manager for Sporting Delta Israel.
GARDNER JOINS MAIDENFORM: Robert Gardner has been named to the new post of vice president of sales for the eastern region for Maidenform Inc., reporting to Mitch Kauffman, senior vice president of sales.
Gardner is a veteran of the retail and manufacturing fields for intimate apparel. He served in various executive posts at Kaufmann’s Department Stores for 13 years — two as divisional merchandise manager of intimate apparel. He later served as a regional vice president of sales at Calvin Klein Underwear, director of sales at the licensed Tommy Hilfiger Intimates, and was most recently director of sales for the Vanity Fair, Lily of France and Tommy Hilfiger Intimates businesses, a part of VF Corp.’s Intimate Apparel Coalition.
