SWITCHING SIDES: Anne Caetano has joined Charles Komar Inc. to head a newly created division of luxury brand intimates and sleepwear. Caetano reports to Charles Komar, chairman and chief executive officer.
Komar said, “The only sector we are not into is luxury. We wanted to get into the luxury intimates and sleepwear market. We hit it off immediately with Anne, and we are very enthusiastic about her expertise and knowledge.”
Komar added that the firm is “looking at several luxury options” for the new divisions.
Caetano was formerly divisional merchandise manager of intimate apparel and hosiery at Saks Fifth Avenue for two years. Before that, she was the foundations buyer at Saks from 1999 to 2002 and buyer of branded and contemporary sleepwear from 1998 to 1999. Earlier, she was Saks’ store planner for private brands and Gold range sportswear for two years and associate buyer of bridge sportswear from 1995 to 1996.
2005 MARKET DATES: The Intimate Apparel Council, a division of the American Apparel & Footwear Association, has announced the official innerwear market dates for 2005.
The dates are:
- Jan. 10-14.
- March 7-11.
- May 2-6.
- Aug. 1-5.
- Nov. 7-11.
UJA HONOREES: The UJA-Federation of New York’s Intimate Apparel Division will honor three leaders from the intimate apparel industry at the group’s annual awards dinner on May 5 at the Grand Hyatt New York hotel.
The honorees are Donna Wolff, divisional merchandise manager of intimate apparel and hosiery at Bloomingdale’s; Richard C. Murray, president and chief operating officer of Wacoal America, and Roger Klauber, president of Klauber Brothers, a lace firm.The three executives will be recognized for their outstanding service to the industry and their support of charitable causes.
The chairman of UJA’s Intimate Apparel Division is Thomas A. Garson, chief executive officer of Lovable World Trading Co. The dinner chairman is Barry Ross, ceo of Barry Ross Intimate Connections.
