TORONTO — Erdem Moralioglu won International Canadian Designer of the Year at the fourth annual Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards last week.
Winners claimed 16 awards during the event, including the Joe Fresh Innovation Award for fashion tech up-and-comer Salesfloor; Model of the Year for 29-year-old Meghan Collison, and Image Maker of the Year Award for photographer Caitlin Cronenberg.
Others feted included Accessory Designer of the Year recipient Jenny Bird, as well as women’s wear label Maram and 3-D printed jewelry creator Daniel Christian Tang, which scooped up $10,000 Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent in Fashion and Accessories, respectively.
Moralioglu the international award for the second time in two years. Other major wins went to The Feral by Zakariah Milana for Menswear Designer of the Year and Beaufille by sisters Chloé and Parris Gordon, who scored 2017’s women’s wear award.
This year’s International Style Icon Award went to 95-year-old American interior designer and fashion icon Iris Apfel.
