MILAN — The board of the Italian Chamber of Fashion has renewed Mario Boselli’s tenure as president of the association for three more years.
New members of the board include Carla Sozzani, owner of the well-known 10 Corso Como store; IT Holding chairman Tonino Perna; Michele Norsa, chief executive officer of Valentino, and Lavinia Biagiotti, the daughter of designer Laura Biagiotti and creative director of the family-run firm.
In a separate development, Boselli confirmed dates for the next two sets of Milan ready-to-wear fashion shows. This fall, the women’s collections will run Sept. 25-Oct. 3. In 2005, the dates are scheduled for Feb. 19-27. Once again, the February edition will coincide with the Oscars, scheduled for Feb. 27 — a conflict that created some logistical headaches this year.
In a phone interview, Boselli downplayed the issue. “No matter, the awards helped us schedule a better calendar, with shows spread through the whole week. We plan to have the same kind of schedule for the fall.”
