NEW YORK — Lee S. Sporn will join Michael Kors (USA) as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, a new post.

The past two years, Sporn held a similar post at Kasper A.S.L., prior to which he was with Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. for 11 years, rising to vice president of intellectual property and associate general counsel. He began his career at law firm Proskauer Rose.
At Kors, Sporn will oversee all legal activities for the company, as well as human resources and real estate. He reports to John D. Idol, who, as reported, will become chief executive of Kors next Tuesday. Idol was chairman and ceo of Kasper.
