With recognizable surnames such as Azria and Marciano, a second generation of designers are following in their parents’ footsteps. Here are some of the NexGen crowd making their marks on Los Angeles’ fashion scene.
Joyce Azria
Age: 30
Parentage: BCBG Max Azria Group founder, chairman and chief executive officer Max Azria and former dancer Kiki Azria
Schooling: She learned to design through working in the family business.

Emily Factor
Age: 31
Parentage: Businessman Davis Jr. Factor and artist Gail Factor. Along with half-brothers Smashbox founders Dean and Davis Factor, she’s one of the seven great-grandchildren of cosmetics king Max Factor.
Schooling: Central Saint Martins and an apprenticeship with Zandra Rhodes
Fashion label: Emily Factor
Retail prices: $200 to $1,200 for delicately feminine looks fashioned out of cotton and silk imbued with vibrant prints that Factor designed herself

Aryn Glasser
Age: 21
Parentage: Michael Glasser, co-founder of Seven For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Rich & Skinny, and former fashion merchandiser Veronica Klein
Schooling: After graduating from high school, she attended what she dubbed “fashion school with Michael Glasser.”

Jesse Jo Stark

Parentage: Laurie Lynn and Richard Stark, owners of rock ’n’ roll accessories brand Chrome Hearts
Schooling: She spent her childhood pinning leather to make her own bags in her parents’ factory.
Fashion label: Vans x Jesse Jo, which launched last spring and introduced a sophomore collection for this holiday season
Retail prices: $8 to $50 for a punky capsule collection that includes bat-print socks, backless blue velvet minidresses and leggings printed with Vans’ signature black-and-white checks

Ella Marciano
Age: 17
Parentage: Guess Inc. chief executive officer and vice chairman Paul Marciano and ex-model Kymberly Marciano-Strauss

Fashion projects: Annual charitable initiatives for her father’s company, the latest of which is a beaded cord bracelet to benefit Save the Children; Previous designs included a heart-print tank top designed on behalf of the charity Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children, as well as philanthropic Ts made when she was seven years old to benefit victims of the 9/11 terror attacks
