Moore has made as many personal and professional statements with her clothes off as she has with them on. Since Robert Altman’s “Short Cuts” in 1993, she has repeatedly shown to audiences and critics that a little nudity isn’t a coverup for talent. Like Helen Mirren or Jennifer Jason Leigh, Moore is among the few actresses who can take it off and still be taken seriously.

Her nude appearances have come in “Short Cuts,” “Boogie Nights” in 1997, “The Big Lebowski” in 1998 and “The End of the Affair” in 1999.

But not all her nude turns have gone down well. Life partner Bart Freundlich stopped a Vanity Fair shoot in which Michael Thompson was photographing Moore nude, although he evidently wasn’t too surprised. “Julianne always ends up naked,” he said.
