LOS ANGELES — Lisa Kline, the hip Los Angeles retailer, hosts her share of celebrities, but is currently fawning over the world’s most famous redhead: Ronald McDonald. As part of a collaboration with Los Angeles apparel brand Mighty Fine, two human-sized versions of the iconic clown are perched in the windows of the Robertson Boulevard boutique, surrounded by mannequins wearing limited-edition cotton Ts emblazoned with classic McDonald’s characters — including Grimace and the Hamburgler — made by Mighty Fine’s specialty label, DOE.
“McDonald’s is an American icon,’’ said Justin Watson, marketing manager for Mighty Fine. “Everyone has an emotional reaction to it.” The T-shirts retail at $52 each and are sold in Happy Meal-like boxes, then carted away in shopping bags shaped like giant French fry cartons.
The tag line on the window? “Billions and billions styled.”
