Kin Ying Lee, Madewell’s head of design, envisioned her fall lineup as “Wes Anderson meets Madewell, lost in the woods.” Thus the label’s lower-Broadway showroom was set with a giant tree surrounded by a collection that played brights against brights, exploded animal prints and men’s wear patterns, all of which was styled in accordance with Madewell’s well-worn, casual American ethos, here with its inner geek on display.
