A TOUCH OF INDIA: A new trade show called Think Leather Think India kicks off a three-day run Feb. 26 at the Times Square Double Tree Suites Hotel in New York.

Sponsored by the Council of Leather Exports, the event launches a three-year initiative designed to help boost sales in the U.S. CLE and India’s Ministry of Commerce & Industry selected 35 vendors to show their leather apparel, accessories and footwear.

BOOKING APPAREL: The various escapades of executives in the apparel industry are outlined in a new book called, “Cover Yourself: Adventures in the Rag Trade From Start-Ups to Stars.”

Published by GarmentoSpeak, a Sebastopol, Calif.-based company, the 116-page book was written by Sue Pekarsky Gary, author of “Made in America: The Business of Apparel and Sewn Products Manufacturing.” Esprit founder Susie Tompkins Buell and NASA designer Jinny Ferl are among the 45 people profiled in the book.
