FUR HANNANT: Douglas Hannant has signed a one-year licensing deal with Alexandros Furs to produce a collection that will debut for fall 2005. Hannant said he has designed fur pieces for his ready-to-wear collection but was eager to do a full line. Sable, mink, chinchilla, broadtail and ermin will be among the offerings in the 30-piece line. Wholesale prices are to range from $1,500 for accessories to about $40,000 for a sable or chinchilla coat. First-year projected wholesale volume is $1 million, said Thomas Demetriades, creative director for Alexandros Furs.

MELTZER TAPPED: The Amerex Group has promoted David Meltzer to group vice president of sales for women’s and men’s. He had been vice president of sales.
Meltzer is responsible for overseeing sales growth for Amerex’s women’s and men’s brands in the moderate and better divisions. Meltzer reports to Renee McGovern, president of Amerex women’s and men’s group.
