“Intensity” was the concept that inspired Dick Page, who worked on behalf of Shiseido — and kept this week’s metallic trend going — at Proenza Schouler Monday evening. He applied a pearl gray cream to the eye and on top of that put a “really intense” cobalt blue on the eyelid. Page surrounded that with a teal hue that was blended to the outside of the eye. Silver and gold highlights were added, to give the strong eye contrast. “It’s very dramatic,” he said, “strong, but easy — but not too glam-rockie.” The rest of the face and the lips remained neutral.
Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman combined straight and wavy in the down dos he did for Proenza Schouler. With big rollers and wide-barreled curling irons, Souleiman and his GHD styling team created waves at the ends of otherwise straight — albeit textured and a bit messy — lengths, sans product. “This girl is a Brigitte Bardot-meets-Courtney Love,” he said, “a baby doll, rock ’n’ roll kind of girl. It’s about creating a personality — the kind of girl who doesn’t care because she is cool.”
