With a nod to the city’s sultry tropical vibe, designers at the Miami Swim Show featured sexy pieces, from floral and animal prints to cut-to-there shapes.

MIAMI — Fashion firms of all stripes are plunging into swim these days. At the Miami Swim Show, former Givenchy designer Julien Macdonald was a fresh face. “I’ve had loads of people ask when I was going to expand [swim], so for this season, I’ve developed a range of decadent separates for the serious beach set,” said the London-based designer, who left Givenchy in April. Macdonald’s line is chock full of sex appeal, as exemplified by this plunging polyamide and elasthane suit. For more on cruise, see today’s photo spread.
