NEW YORK — Add another name to the list of celebrity beauty lines.
Singer Naomi Judd has launched a treatment collection called Esteem Skin Care, which is being marketed via an infomercial that’s formatted as a talk show. The 30-minute spot is hosted by Judd and was produced by Santa Ana, Calif.-based Script to Screen. It began rolling out in the past two weeks to national cable networks, including We, Oxygen and Lifetime.
Esteem was developed in conjunction with Dr. Sergio Nacht, a biochemist, and the songstress’ dermatologist, Melvin Elson. It’s designed for women with “complex lives” who juggle career and family and want to “pay attention to [their] whole being,” according to marketing materials. A Web site, Mynaomi.com, refers orders for Esteem products to an 800 number. Aside from skin care recommendations, content on the site encourages visitors to “move, learn, laugh, relax and recharge.”
Esteem includes six products: Pore Refining Cleanser, SPF 15 AM Moisture Shield, PM Vita-Cap Renewal Serum, Botanical Bath Bar, Nighttime Barrier Cream and Vita-Cap Dark Circle Eye Serum. The infomercial offers a starter kit including four of the items for $59.80, a price that’s divided into two payments. A nutritional supplement, called Superior Skin, is marketed on the Web site.
