In her second Nobi Talai collection, Berlin designer Nobieh Talaei lived up to the reputation that earned her the Fashion Council Germany’s first Fellowship mentee award as well as this season’s Premium Young Designers prize. Talaei said she designs for urban nomads, and sent forth a chic tribe wrapped in luscious cashmere, wool, calf and lambskin, as well as the fuzzy plush material from the makers of Steiff stuffed animals. There were ponchos, capes, serapelike throws, A-lined tops and cropped tunics that were shown artfully draped or plain and sharp. Lest things get too heavy, pieces with cutout shoulders and delicate blouses in silk voile provided fresh air.
