NEW YORK — Marc Jacobs channeled Sixties fashion icons Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy for Louis Vuitton’s cruise collection, featuring sweet embroidered dresses that hit just above the knee, playful shorts, box-shaped jackets in crochet and lace, and plenty of great knits — all with the finest finishes, of course. Meanwhile, Michael Vollbracht, the designer behind the Bill Blass label, was inspired by the South of France during the Sixties. The result is a feminine, yet fresh, collection of cocktail dresses, full skirts, cozy knits and intricate embroideries. Patrick Robinson, Paco Rabanne’s designer, however, says, “I was interested in what is glamorous for the future. There was no looking back.” His cruise collection features sculpted cotton or metallic mesh jackets inspired by anime heroines, sharp cotton pique jackets and ruffle-hemmed dresses.
