Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad took over Berlin’s Kronprinzenpalais for a wandering salon show that moved from one oddly wallpapered room to another — underscoring the duo’s interest in how their clothes look and function in different environments.

While the designers forgo dramatic silhouette change from one season to the next, key elements were reshuffled and textural contrasts heightened for fall, as with their signature blouson top in gray-blue crepe teamed with a new shirttail hemmed skirt. Rustic knits appeared as oversized serape-like shawls, sometimes in mega-gauge Scandia yarn, while a hand-knit skirt was paired with a knotted, yellow silk charmeuse blouse, one of the lineup’s strongest new styles. Consummate colorists, nothing really matched, yet the combos looked young and fresh.
