Young designer duo Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad continued to tailor their singular vision of fluid geometrics, this season thinking ever more outside their box. They turned up the volume, introducing fuller, stiffer — and standout — shapes. Silk, cotton and paper threads were sculpted into rounded craggy skirts and a cropped cardigan with an asymmetric hem. The rough-hewn vibe was balanced with the smooth, i.e., silky trousers and slinky skirts in shimmering tones. Feminine shapes were worked in hazy, rosy hues, with bodice seaming and flattering cuts that skimmed rather than hugged the body. Their signature tricks were still there; this season’s best included layered organza in different shades on fluttering, simple looks, and a variation on the off-kilter halter top introduced last season.
