Rag & Bone thinks runway shows are too predictable. So the New York-based brand comes up with creative ways to unveil its collection every season. Past ideas have included films based on its women’s collections and a photo exhibit for its men’s line. Next week, the label will turn to legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and rising star Lil Buck who will star in a short film wearing pieces from the fall men’s collection. The film will be aired during the company’s fall fashion “event,” planned for Tuesday, Feb. 3.
The “kinetic conceptual” film was “shot against a stark backdrop,” according to Rag & Bone, and was directed by Georgie Greville of Legs Media with still imagery by portrait photographer Andreas Laszlo Konrath.
“This is a continuation of what we did last season,” a spokeswoman said. “Instead of doing a straighforward fashion show, we like to push the boundaries.”
The event will feature an installation of the pieces from the fall line, but no models, she added.
