His departure was announced by Pacific Sunwear, a specialty retailer of casual apparel, accessories and footwear for young men and juniors, based in Anaheim, Calif. This month, Pamela Goodman resigned as president of Lerner’s. Michael Weiss, vice chairman, has been overseeing the chain. Goodman had been leading a repositioning of long-struggling Lerner’s, attempting to give it more of an identity by improving the quality of the merchandise, keeping its budget price points and defining the customer as 35-to-55-year-old working women. She resigned due to “conflict-of-interest issues,” The Limited said, but found no misconduct on her part. Goodman last year married Barry Goodman, president of Channel Textiles, a supplier to Lerner’s and other Limited divisions.
Sally Pearson continues as Lerner’s executive vice president for merchandising. In another change at The Limited, Pia Ferrario was named executive vice president and general merchandise manager of Victoria’s Secret Catalog. Ferrario, previously vice president and merchandise manager of tops at the Limited Stores division, succeeds Sarah Gallagher, who left the company in December.
