In a licensing deal with Jem Sportwear, the makeup manufacturer will be launching a collection of pricy T-shirts in shades to match its lipsticks and nail polishes. Initially, 20 color-coded Ts will be available in shades like Va Va Va Bloom and Sandstone. The tops will be unveiled to retailers at the WWDMAGIC trade show next week.
For this year, Revlon is targeting exclusive clothing boutiques with a premium line of shirts that carry suggested prices ranging from $45 to $65, depending on its design. A second range will be made available to mass retailers in 2003, said Kristin Patrick Petersen, vice president of brand exposure at Revlon.
Each shirt also will include an inside tag with an inspirational message to match the shade. Raven Red’s tag reads: “Be Aggressive When It Comes to Getting What You Want.”
Celebrities who stopped by Revlon’s booth at Sundance got a sneak preview of the shirts and a freebie to take home.
